Safe Harbor Students Use LEGO to “Build the Change”

Safe Harbor elementary students are participating in Build the Change, a LEGO Social Impact program that encourages students to use play and imagination to design a better future. Through this initiative, students build scale models of inclusive and accessible spaces using LEGO bricks and other materials, demonstrating their ideas for more welcoming and equitable environments.

 

To showcase their work, each school will host an event where students present their projects to staff and families. A special event will take place at Edgewood Elementary School will provide students with the opportunity to highlight their innovations to a broader audience.

 

WHO: Safe Harbor Elementary Students, Michigan City Area Schools Administrators, Community Leaders, Families, and Michigan City Area Schools Staff

 

WHEN: Tuesday, March 11, 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Central Time

 

WHERE: Edgewood Elementary School, 503 Boyd Circle, Michigan City.

Media are invited to attend this inspiring event to see students creative designs and hear their ideas for a more inclusive world. Interviews and photo opportunities will be available.
