MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. – Lubeznik Center
for the Arts (LCA) is hosting first Friday with a live music
performance by Eric Lambert on Friday, May 3, 2024, from 5 to 8 p.m. Central.
All are welcome to enjoy the show, complimentary light refreshments and a cash
bar. Admission is free, as always.
Eric
Lambert has played guitar, educated, recorded and toured internationally with
many diverse artists. He is a three time Chicago Music Award winner, a Strings
and Sol Festival (Mexico) Guitar Champion and a RockyGrass (CO) new band winner
as a member of the Henhouse Prowlers.
His latest recording
"Beating The Odds" peaked at #8 on the Folk Alliance International DJ
Chart in 2021, along with Bela Fleck, Norman Blake, Billy Strings and others by
the "Back Porch" radio show on WVPE Public Radio. It was also named
the Best Regional Release of the year by Tom Lounges and the Times of Northwest
Indiana.
In addition to enjoying the musical performance, attendees can view "Stitched, Woven and Hooked," LCA’s current exhibition. This exhibit showcases extraordinary work by textile artists who employ a broad range of materials and techniques including traditional quilt making, basket weaving and embroidery, to new digital techniques and other contemporary material play.
INnthe NIPSCO Art Education Studios, "Art from the Start," is on display through May 15. This popular exhibition showcases the artworks created by the students of Michigan City Area Schools.
