Summer is Finally Here! So Many Exciting and New Events this June at the Museum! We hope to see everyone soon!
June 1-29:Traveling Exhibit: Indiana Through the Mapmaker's Eyes! This traveling exhibit by the Indiana Historical Society examines four ways people have used maps through the years. La Porte County maps from the Museum's collection are also showcased.
June 1-July 7: Old Lighthouse Museum Special Pop-Up Exhibit! Celebrate the OLM's 50th Season with us. Don't forget to visit the Old Lighthouse Museum when you stop by Washington Park!
June 1-July 22: Scale Model Tucker Raffle! To celebrate the Tucker’s 75th Anniversary, visitors to the La Porte County Historical Society Museum are welcome to enter their name into the Free 1/18 Scale Model Tucker Raffle from now until July 22! The winner will be announced at the 15th Annual Old Car Show!
June 1- August 31: Ralph Seymour Exhibit! La Porte High School graduate Ralph Seymour went on to become one of the most famous artists in Chicago at the turn of the century. Come see original paintings by Seymour on our Gallery Wall!
June 14:Veteran Free Day! To honor Army Founding Day, all veterans and active duty military are welcome to come to the museum free of charge. For free admission, a form of ID is required to show that you are a veteran or active military member. Acceptable forms of ID include: Affairs Card, Indiana Veterans Card, VFW, American Legion, and Driver's License with Veterans ID.
June 17:Author Talk with David Chrisinger! The author of a new Ernie Pyle biography 'The Soldier's Truth: Ernie Pyle and the Story of World War II' will be giving a presentation about his unprecedented research into the famous Hoosier journalist. The program will begin at 2:00.
