Reins of Life, Inc. will conduct New Volunteer Training at our Michigan City center on Monday, March 27 from 2-4:30 p.m. and Tuesday, March 28 from 5:30-8 p.m. CT.  You only need to attend one training class to qualify.
Volunteers in therapeutic riding lessons help with the grooming/tacking process and lend assistance during lessons as riders learn new skills and perform activities on horseback.  Volunteers must be 13 years or older.  Horse experience is not required. One class is an approximately 1.5 to 2-hour weekly commitment. If you want to make a difference in someone’s life, spend time with horses, or get some extra movement in your day, this will become your new favorite activity!  The spring riding session will run April 17-June 10, 2023.

In addition, Reins will be offering volunteer training for the following programs:
· Therapeutic Carriage Driving on Thursday, March 30 from 5-7 p.m.
· Interactive Vaulting on Tuesday, April 11 from 1-3 p.m.

If you’d rather feed their four-legged partners, you can join one of their feeding shifts, either at 7 a.m. or 3:30 p.m. Shifts are 1.5-2 hours per week and on-the-job training is provided. Feeding volunteers must be at least 16 years old.
