Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Manage a Membership Process
a. Manage a sales process for recruiting new members.
b. Manage a member onboarding and retention process.
c. Actively engage with existing Chamber members to increase retention.
d. Manage and build a pipeline of prospective members to increase membership count for the organization.
e. Manage monthly membership reports to be shared with the Chamber President and Board of Directors.
f. Track and compile membership data to be used in monthly reporting and an Annual Report.
2. Manages the Chamber Ambassador Program
a. Recruit and engage members to become Ambassadors.
b. Provide training for new Ambassadors.
c. Manage Ambassador activities through monthly meetings.
d. Evaluate Ambassador contributions to the Chamber and recognize achievements through the Ambassador of the Quarter and Ambassador of the Year acknowledgements.
3. Develop and Manage Member Programs
a. Manage community partnerships to develop programs that meet the needs of membership.
b. Conduct member trainings or promotions to increase utilization of existing member offerings.
c. Assist with the marketing and coordination of member programs.
d. Regularly evaluate the success and effectiveness of member programs and make recommendations for changes.
e. Manage Annual Chamber Member award nominations and selection process.
4. Coordinate with other Chamber staff in planning and coordinating all Chamber events
a. Work to promote awareness of Chamber events to members and prospective members.
b. Increase engagement and participation in all Chamber events and programs.
c. Regularly evaluate the success and effectiveness of member events and make recommendations for changes.
d. Increase sponsorship revenue for Chamber events.
5. Serve as an advisor to the Chamber President and perform other duties as assigned
a. Serve as a representative of the Chamber as needed and approved by the Chamber President.
b. Maintain and build stakeholder relationships on behalf of the Chamber as directed by the Chamber President.
c. Assist the Chamber President in producing an Annual Report that includes membership data, Chamber activities, and community development.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
1. This multi-faceted position requires experience in a sales role and an understanding of general business. A business degree is preferred.
2. Demonstrated success in developing and managing a sales process.
3. Excellent customer service and listening skills.
4. Excellent interpersonal skills, team player, and ability to develop and maintain good relationships with internal staff and external contacts.
5. Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and plan.
6. Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and others. Social Media knowledge is a plus.
7. Resourceful, analytical, decisive, and focused on cost-effective solutions.
8. Knowledge of the business community, membership organizations, or the Chamber industry is preferred.
9. Professional and mature attitude; remains calm under pressure.
10. Able to work independently and demonstrate creativity and efficiency.
11. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written; interpersonal skills to project a positive image of the Chamber; personal integrity with an outstanding work ethic.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
1. Viewing computer terminal, and keyboarding in an office environment.
2. Communication via the Internet, telephone, and face-to-face interactions; requires an ability to express oneself as well as perceive and exchange ideas.
3. The employee is not exposed to adverse environmental conditions, working primarily in an office environment.
4. Sedentary work; exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force.
5. Work can require stooping, kneeling, crouching, as well as grasping objects, and reaching with hands and arms.
