The ideal candidate will be skilled in creating impactful campaigns, managing a marketing team, and collaborating with crossfunctional departments to achieve business goals. Key Responsibilities: Lead the daily operations of the organization by effectively monitoring grant applications and providing clear responses to inquiries regarding grants and tax credits, while managing budgeting processes efficiently. Ensure precise recording of all financial transactions, receivables, and claims to maintain the highest level of financial integrity. Regularly update and oversee the general ledger to guarantee its accuracy and relevance. Work closely with the Board Treasurer to uphold financial accuracy and accountability across all records. Stay informed about reporting requirements and maintain compliance with all applicable external laws and regulations to ensure organizational integrity. Vigilantly monitor and report any variations from the projected budget to facilitate timely adjustments. Play a crucial role in supporting businesses by aiding in job retention, expansion, and investment within the Urban Enterprise Zone. Drive the further development and execution of the strategic plan to enhance organizational impact. - Oversee grant programs catering to both residential and business needs to stimulate local growth. - Represent the Urban Enterprise Authority (UEA) as an influential spokesperson. Analyze market trends and compile data about various community groups, including identifying available properties for businesses within the Zone. Foster strong relationships with federal and state offices, actively advocating for the interests of our city and region. Engage with Small Business Development Centers (SBDCs) to effectively disseminate vital information to small businesses within the Urban Enterprise Zone. Advocate for and promote incentives and grant programs that drive business growth and expansion. Execute comprehensive marketing strategies for programs and initiatives through diverse channels such as word of mouth, social media, newsletters, radio, television, and advertising. Embrace additional responsibilities as assigned by the Board of Directors to contribute to the organization’s overall success.RequirementsRequired Qualifications: Demonstrate your technical proficiency by analyzing and interpreting complex tax credit information, and present it to business prospects in an engaging and accessible way. Preferred candidates will have experience with Urban Enterprise Zones, enhancing their understanding of community business dynamics. A solid foundation in accounting is essential. Collaborate effectively to build valuable partnerships within the community, fostering a spirit of cooperation. - Exhibit strong analytical and writing skills that convey messages clearly and persuasively. A BA/BS degree in Economics, Public Policy, Marketing, Business, or a related field will provide a strong base for success. High integrity, a quick learning ability, and intrinsic motivation are key traits for thriving in this role. Exceptional organizational and communication skills are a must, including writing, public speaking, and active listening. - Experience working with diverse groups of professionals and community leaders will enhance your effectiveness. Possess strong planning and prioritization skills to manage tasks efficiently. Proficiency in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office and GIS mapping, along with online tools, is crucial. Attention to detail will set you apart in this role. Strong interpersonal skills will enable you to connect with others and build relationships. Thrive in a fast-paced environment, adapting to challenges with ease. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS: You must be willing to travel and attend essential meetings and events that may take place in the evenings and weekends. This position primarily involves sedentary work, with the need for occasional standing and walking. Much of the day will be spent sitting and keyboarding, requiring comfort and focus in these tasks. Strong verbal communication skills are vital. You will need to receive detailed information through oral communication and effectively express your ideas in conversations, particularly via telephone with both customers and team members.
