INOVA Federal welcomed Indiana’s 2nd District Congressman, Rudy Yakym, for an informative discussion on pressing matters impacting credit union members. The visit, which occurred on December 8, 2023, involved Congressman Yakym engaging in a comprehensive dialogue with INOVA CEO, Dallas Bergl, and CFO, Joseph Messenger, on matters central to the financial well-being of his constituents.

The meeting was a platform to address challenges affecting credit union members in his district on a day-to-day basis. Congressman Yakym shared insights and perspectives on critical financial policies and legislation that directly influence the financial landscape for individuals and families across the community.

Bergl emphasized, "This gathering allowed us to highlight the significant impact of excessive regulation on the wallets of our members. We greatly appreciate Congressman Yakym's willingness to engage in these discussions; acknowledging the importance of finding a balance between reasonable government oversight and ensuring the financial freedom for our members." 

The discussion touched upon the adverse effects of excessive regulations, shedding light on how these constraints contribute to increased costs for credit union members, impacting their financial stability and access to affordable financial services.

Congressman Yakym expressed his commitment to understanding the nuanced challenges faced by the credit union's members, stating, "I value these conversations immensely as they provide crucial insights into the real-life implications of legislation on our constituents. About Congressman Yakym

Congressman Rudy Yakym is a fourth generation Hoosier who is proud to represent the people of Indiana’s Second District. A Christian, family man, and conservative, Rudy is working tirelessly to bring common sense, Hoosier values to Washington, D.C.

Born and raised in South Bend, Rudy received a bachelor’s degree in business finance and administration from Indiana University South Bend. He later went on to earn an Executive MBA from the University of Notre Dame.

Prior to his election to Congress, Rudy served as Director of Growth Initiatives at Kem Krest, a company that specializes in removing friction from supply chains. Throughout his career in business, Rudy has held senior positions at various companies, helping them to develop effective growth strategies.

Rudy and his wife Sallyann currently live in Granger, where they are raising their three wonderful children: Elle, Rudy IV, and Eliza. They worship at New Life Baptist Church, where Rudy serves the congregation as Head Usher.
