Purpose: Peepers is trend-forward, innovative eyewear brand that is sold in 7,000+ doors nationwide. As Key Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing and growing our current national account business while generating new leads to meet/exceed sales targets. The Key Account Manager plays a crucial role in fostering strong buyer relationships, ensuring the highest level of customer service and communication. This role is responsible for increasing revenue and footprint in national accounts, strategic planning, forecasting, and driving key decision-making to support the brand’s continued growth and opportunities for expansion.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Customer Relationship / Expectation Management

  • Cultivate and expand relationships with both new and existing customers to drive maximum sales growth and mutual success.
  • Prioritize customer satisfaction, managing needs and expectations to build long-lasting partnerships that thrive.
  • Partner with National Accounts to strategically curate product assortments that align with customer needs and drive YOY growth.
  • Dive deep into account performance, analyzing successes, challenges, and opportunities to ensure every need is met and exceeded.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with Wholesale Director, Inventory, Product Development, Merchandising and Design, and Marketing departments to oversee projects from concept to delivery.
  • Tackle challenges head-on by working with National Accounts to resolve issues with smart, innovative solutions build trust and satisfy all parties.
  • Lead National Account meetings at retailer offices and tradeshows, winning business and driving key initiatives forward.

New Business Development

  • Identify white space opportunities + develop prospect lists to drive new business
  • Deliver compelling product presentations and proposals, negotiating deals that finalize the sale and expand Peepers’ market footprint.
  • Stay ahead of market trends by keeping Senior Management informed of changing market conditions, competitive dynamics, and making strategic recommendations.

Sales Plan Execution ($ + margin)

  • Achieve/exceed sales objectives in coordination with the company's overall business plan by calling upon current and prospective customers on a regular basis.
  • Own the sales forecast—develop, monitor, and analyze annual budgets, ensuring the business stays on track throughout the year.
  • Maximize profitability by reviewing, negotiating, and analyzing costs with a focus on achieving optimal margins
  • Ensure Senior management is informed of health of business through streamlined communication and sales presentations.

Peepers Product Knowledge

  • Understand Peepers product categories, product development and production processes.
  • Understand wholesale to retail sales including EDI requirements, logistics, order cycles and order processes.
  • Learn about, understand, communicate, and sell key features of Peepers and our capabilities.
 
Requirements

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; 5+ years’ work experience
  • Experience with Mass Retail, Specialty Gift Industry, and/or Apparel Industry
  • Expert in Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and Microsoft Office
  • Must be dynamic, performance driven sales professional with a proven track record of building business
  • Must be a self-starter, results-oriented, and a team player
  • Accurate and efficient keyboarding skills as well as the ability to navigate websites and proprietary software are required.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
  • Requires strong written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills
  • Must have outstanding leadership, presentation, and communication skills
  • Strong critical thinking and logical reasoning skills
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and project management skills
  • A professional appearance, etiquette and excellent verbal skills are required.
  • Empathic listening skills and careful speaking skills.
  • The ability to utilize in-house software systems.
  • Solid customer service attitude with excellent negotiation skills.
