Lubeznik Center for the Arts (LCA) has received two substantial grants from the Michigan City Community Enrichment Corporation (MCCEC), enabling the organization to expand its free community art outreach and engagement programs.

A $4,000 grant will support LCA’s Creation Station and Family Days. The Creation Station, an interactive space within LCA's galleries, encourages visitors to create art inspired by the current exhibition and display their creations on the gallery wall. The wall fills as the exhibition continues. The hands-on experience is a wildly popular feature among children, teens and adults alike.

Family Days at LCA offer children and adults opportunities to connect with each other while enjoying docent-led, family-friendly tours along with art projects, scavenger hunts and snacks.

Additionally, MCCEC has awarded funding to support LCA’s innovative Roving Art Exhibit program, scheduled to launch this summer. This unique project will transform a moving van into a mobile art gallery, complete with display walls and lighting. The Roving Art Exhibit will travel to various neighborhoods for several days, providing accessible docent-led tours and workshops directly within the community. This groundbreaking initiative marks the first of its kind in La Porte County, bringing the enriching experience of art directly to residents.
