October 1-31: LaCrosse History Pop-Up! Learn about
the town of LaCrosse in the ninth of our Towns of La Porte County Pop-Up
exhibits. Highlights include items from LaCrosse school, influential residents,
and local businesses.
October 5: Pine Lake Cemetery Tour! Join Museum
staff on a tour of Pine Lake Cemetery! The group will walk you through the
scenic cemetery grounds, highlighting the stories of ten monuments and the
people they commemorate. Tours will disembark at 12:00, 2:00, and 4:00 at Pine
Lake Cemetery on Saturday, October 5, 2024. Tickets cost $5.00. Members and
children are free. You MUST pre-register for this tour. Email Museum Director

October 12: LaCrosse Free Admission Day! All LaCrosse
residents will receive Free Admission to the Museum on Saturday, October 12th!
Come see the LaCrosse Pop-Up exhibit to learn more about your town!
October 12: Veteran Free Day! To honor Navy Founding Day, all
veterans and active duty military are welcome to come to the Museum free of charge.
October 15: Historical Society Meeting! Join us on
Tuesday, October 15 at 7:00pm to learn about the "Shipwrecks in Lake
Michigan", a program by Sam Haskell. This event is free to all.
October 26: Museum Trick or Treat! Come trick or
treat through time at the Museum on Saturday, October 26 from 2:00-4:00pm. We
are also opening the Museum Trick or Treat a little earlier from 1:00-1:45 for
children with disabilities or for those who prefer a more quiet environment to
enjoy trick or treating at the Museum. Admission is FREE to trick or treaters
during the event.
Now until November 7: Lost Landmarks of Indianapolis
Traveling Exhibit! This traveling exhibit explores the important
buildings of Indy that have been lost and how the demolitions of mid-twentieth
century led to a movement that challenged ideas about what should be destroyed
and what should be saved.
Now until November 27: Lost Cemeteries of La Porte County
Exhibit! Learn about the various cemeteries of La Porte County that
no longer exist and have been lost to time.
