The Economic Development Corporation Michigan City, City of Michigan City and BCA Environmental Consultants are presenting the seminar from 8 am to 1 pm Thursday Oct. 3 at Uptown Social, 907 Franklin St. Coffee, pastries and lunch will be served. Realtors, investors and business owners are invited to hear from expert speakers who will focus on tools and incentives as well as federal, state and local resources regarding Brownfields. Case studies from across the state will also be featured during panel discussions. This collaborative seminar will spur discussions while outlining steps industry leaders can take here in Northwest Indiana,” said Michigan City Mayor Angie Nelson Deuitch. The seminar will include three sessions: Brownfield Tools and Incentives Panel, Local Case Studies from Across Indiana Panel and Federal, State & Local Resource Panel. Speakers have first-hand experience with Brownfields and redevelopment. The City of Logansport Deputy Mayor Jacob Pomasl, KSU-TAB EPA 5 Region Coordinator Beth Grigsby, Delta Institute AICP Senior Specialist Natalie Brown and EPA Region 5 Director of Land, Chemicals & Redevelopment Division Ed Nam will share their expertise. “Hearing from professionals who are focused on this area of redevelopment is an exceptional opportunity for our region,” said EDCMC Executive Director Clarence L.
