Runners are encouraged to wear costumes for a "Spooky Sprint" 5K fun run that will take place in Michigan City's Washington Park on Saturday, October 28. The event will start at the North Point Pavilion in Washington Park, with the route running along the beach, to Beachwalk, and back along Lakeshore Drive.
Race registration starts at 8:00 a.m. on the day of the event, and the race begins at 9:00a.m.
The entry fee for pre-registered adult runners is $20, or $25 the day of the event. Students are $10. Those who register by Friday, October 13 will receive a free t-shirt.
The event is sponsored by the Michigan City High School Class of 2025, which will use proceeds to host the school prom, a senior picnic, and other class activities. "Michigan City High School is always excited to host events that bring our school and community closer together," says MCHS teacher Suzann Tice, who is also a class sponsor. "We hope families, community members, and students will all turn out to enjoy this fun event together."
