Purdue University Northwest (PNW) has opened its annual callout for nominations of impactful alumni to be honored and inducted into the PNW Alumni Hall of Fame .
The PNW Alumni Hall of Fame honors distinguished graduates from any time in the 77-year history of the university’s campuses. PNW seeks nominations of alumni who are high-achieving leaders in their fields, involved members of their community and those who have engaged with PNW well beyond their time as students.
“PNW established the Alumni Hall of Fame to recognize leaders who have built upon their PNW education to accomplish great things in their careers and in their communities,” said Katie Holderby, director of Alumni Engagement. “Each year we are excited to learn of the innovations of the nominees, and to recognize alumni who continue to serve as an inspiration for current and future PNW students.”
Nominations for candidates for the 2024 PNW Alumni Hall of Fame class can be completed through the Nomination Form by Nov. 15, 2023. The form can be found at pnw.edu/hall-of-fame .
The 2023 PNW Alumni Hall of Fame class included three leaders. The honorees were Robert Johnson III (AAS 1989, BS 1991, MS 1996), CEO of Cimcor, Inc.; Stewart “Stu” McMillan (BS 1977), founder of the Multi Agency Academic Cooperative (MAAC) Foundation; and Alfredo “Al” Sori (AS 1989, BS 1989), former division manager of Kiewit subsidiary Mass Electric Transportation. In 2022, David A. Roberts (BS 1974) became the first inductee into the PNW Alumni Hall of Fame.
Nomination process timeline and criteria
The nomination period begins immediately and will continue through Nov. 15, 2023. A selection committee will review all nominations. The next PNW Alumni Hall of Fame class is expected to be selected in December 2023 and recognized in April 2024. The following criteria apply to the nomination process:
· Alumni who graduated at least 10 years ago will be considered.
· Nominations must be submitted by someone other than the recommended recipient.
· Posthumous nominations will be accepted.
· Alumni who were nominated for the 2023 class remain in the pool of candidates for five Hall of Fame selection periods if they are deemed eligible for consideration. They will be considered along with new nominations to the 2024 class.
