May 1, 2023 Contact: Heidi Tuthill, Development Director, (219) 872-4499 x103 For Immediate Release  Michiana Humane Society  is bringing back the family-friendly and dog-friendly fundraiser, Pets & Pours at Friendship Botanic Gardens on Saturday, May 13 from 11am - 3pm. Event proceeds support the care of approximately 1,000 MHS shelter pets that will get their second chances this year.

Pets & Pours features a dog-walking course through Friendship Botanic Gardens in spring bloom. Tickets include admission to The Gardens, a commemorative pint glass, and live music from Toy Dynamite and Help Hounds. Food and drink will be available for purchase from local favorites like Burn 'Em Brewing , Shady Creek Winery, Social Que BBQ and Zorn Brew Works.

New in 2023, get a glamour shot of your pooch at the doggy photo booth and hear the announcement of the winner of the 'Pet of the Year' competition. Competing pets go head-to-head to collect donations from their friends, families and fans. The top fundraiser will win celeb status and the title of 'MHS Pet of the Year.' Pets can raise funds from now until May 13.



"Our followers love their pets, that's why we are making them the focus of this fundraiser," says Development Director, Heidi Tuthill. "Pets & Pours gives us a way to celebrate our own fur-family members while raising awareness for the shelter pets that don't yet have a family."  Tickets are $55 for adults over the age of 21, $20 for ages 14-20 and FREE for ages 13 and under.
