Annually, the national Raise Conference, implemented by OneCause a leader in online and event fundraising, celebrates non-profit professionals and mission-driven organizations from across North America.

In mid-September, nearly 1,000 non-profit fundraising professionals came together for the in-person and virtual conference in Chicago to learn innovative fundraising strategies within the industry, connect with fellow fundraisers, and share knowledge with the non-profit community.

Each year at the national Raise Conference, non-profit organizations and professionals are recognized in the following categories: Innovative Non-Profit of the Year, Storyteller of the Year, and Fundraisers of the year.

Jane Kobak, Associate Director of Major Giving for Opportunity Enterprises (OE), shined the spotlight on our corner of the state by being named one of three national Fundraisers of the Year. Kobak was recognized as a true leader in the non-profit industry with a talent for developing strong relationships with staff, Board members, clients, and the community. As a result of her dedication, she helped Opportunity Enterprises achieve their annual fundraising budget for FY22 by over 60%. In addition, Kobak was recognized for her fundraising acumen for raising $5.3 million of a $6.7 million capital campaign for Opportunity Enterprises new Lakeside Respite Center which will be built by spring 2023.

“Our organization is extremely fortunate to have Jane Kobak as part of our OE family. In the short five years she has been with our organization, she has brought so much passion and dedication to our mission – and she is not shy in sharing this passion with others. Her efforts in helping OE step closer to its vision of creating a fully integrated community where life for persons with developmental disabilities is valuable, purposeful and fulfilling are appreciated by so many,” states Kacie Ensign, chief development and communications officer.

In addition to this national title of Raise Fundraiser of the Year, Jane Kobak also received OE’s prestigious 2022 Outstanding Staff of the Year award.
