Gabis Arboretum at Purdue Northwest announces Back to School Concert
Valparaiso, IN
08/02/2022 01:05 PM

Celebrate the end of summer break with The Neverly Brothers at Gabis Arboretum at Purdue Northwest on Friday, August 12.

The Neverly Brothers’ concerts are a tribute to one of the most exciting chapters in music history: the birth, near death and resurrection of rock n’ roll. With their one-of-a-kind, high-energy stage performance, you’ll be led on a guided tour of rock history — complete with vintage wardrobe changes and stories behind their chronological song sequence — as they perform hits by Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly, The Beatles, Rolling Stones and many more. This family-friendly show includes familiar songs, suitable for all ages.

“We know that most kids start school this week so we wanted to give them one more taste of summer to stay up late and dance the night away,” said Stephanie Blackstock, executive director for Gabis Arboretum. “We’ll have food trucks, ice cream, popcorn and we are encouraging all families to wear their glow-in-the-dark gear for extra fun.”

The show starts at 7 p.m. with Chris & Lou as the opening act. The gates open at 6:30 p.m. Wildrose Brewing Company and local food vendors will be on-site selling beer, wine and food. No outside alcohol is allowed.

Tickets are $15 in advance and increase to $20 the week of for non-members. Children 12 and under are free. Tickets can be purchased at pnw.edu/gabis-concerts.

The Neverly Brothers concert is sponsored by CR Painting, NIPSCO, and Wildrose Brewing Company.
