La Porte, IN - May 20, 2024 - Anam Cara Counseling is excited to announce the launch of "Recovery Takes The Reins," a transformative six-week group program designed to support individuals on their journey to recovery through the healing power of horses. This trauma-informed, equine-assisted group will provide participants with a profound understanding of the connection between past trauma and substance use, all within a supportive community setting facilitated by a licensed mental health professional.

"Recovery Takes The Reins" offers a unique approach to healing, leveraging the wisdom and intuition of equine companions. Horses, with their natural ability to sense authenticity, form the cornerstone of this therapeutic experience, providing participants with unparalleled insights into their true selves.
Why Horses?
Horses are extraordinary partners in therapy due to their instinctual ability to discern genuine emotions and states of being. Their survival depends on accurately interpreting their surroundings, making them sensitive and perceptive companions who help individuals discover their strengths and navigate their recovery journey.
How Horses Facilitate Healing and Recovery:
- Non-Judgmental Companionship: Horses create a safe space for emotional exploration without fear of criticism.
- Electromagnetic Sensitivity: Horses can detect subtle changes in human energy, allowing them to respond to our emotional states with remarkable accuracy.

No Horse Experience Required
Participants do not need prior horse experience, as the focus is on building connection rather than control. Activities include meaningful interactions like brushing or leading horses, which promote a healing and transformative experience.
Program Details:
- Duration: Six weeks
- Sessions: Mondays, 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM Central Time
- Dates: June 3, 2024 - July 15, 2024
- Location: Anam Cara, 4298 E 1000 North, La Porte, IN 46350
Investment:
- Introductory Offer: $175 for all six sessions if paid by June 1, 2024
- Per Session: $35 per session (payable in cash at each session)
- Scholarships: Available for residents of Porter County through the Porter County HUB Coalition
Minimum of 5 Registrations Needed - Your RSVP matters
A minimum of five registrants is required for the group to proceed. Should this number not be met by June 1, 2024, all registrations will be refunded or applied to the next group, per the registrant's preference.
