2023 Franklinstein Horror Fest

Darkness descends upon Michigan City once again as the 2023 Franklinstein Horror Fest, the region’s haven for horror aficionados, returns for its most bone-chilling celebration yet. Prepare to be spellbound by a sinister spectacle of terror, suspense, and the macabre Friday, October 13th at Michigan City’s Uptown Social.

 

With a lineup that promises to send shivers down the spine, the Franklinstein Horror Fest is prepping for its second year and successfully earned its reputation as the premier horror event in Northwest Indiana. The festival offers a chilling culmination of classic and contemporary horror, experiential activities, interactive installations, and more.

 

"The Franklinstein Horror Fest is not just a festival; it's an immersive journey into the heart of darkness," says Eddie Castellanos, the festival's producer. "This year, we've conjured up an even darker and more terrifying experience for our attendees. Prepare to be haunted, thrilled, and utterly mesmerized." 

 

Fiddlehead Restaurant, with D.J. Tiki Louie will host “Scary Songs” Karaoke, a week prior to the event on Friday, October 6th. Horror Fest tickets and Apparel will be available for purchase at the karaoke event. For more details visit FiddleheadMC.com.

Key highlights of the 2023 Franklinstein Horror Fest include:

1. Red Hot Entertainment: The popular band, Red Hot Voodoo is ready to set the stage on fire, as they perform live at the event.

2. Creepy and Kooky Dance Group: Lakeshore School of Performing Arts will open the fest with an amazing dance routine titled: Night of 1,000 Wednesdays.

3. Eerie Exhibitions: Prepare for jump scares and eerie encounters as you explore horror-themed vendor booths. Scary dolls, Halloween wreathes, and vintage oddities will be offered by local artists to fill your dark appetite. Vendors include Sinister Rex, Haunted Hills Hospital Haunted House, Pop Culture Collectibles, Sideshow Vintage, Guerilla Publishing, Costume World, and many more. 4. Axe Marks the Spot: “Axe-Rated” will be providing their mobile axe throwing experience at the event. Hit the Jason or Freddy bullseye and see what happens!

5. Creepy Costume Contest: Join fellow horror enthusiasts in showcasing their terrifying costumes on stage for a chance to win spine-chilling cash prizes.

6. Fiendish Food and Drinks: Satisfy your sinister cravings with a delectable array of horror-themed food and drinks, served by Sizzlebox Food Truck and event space host, Uptown Social.

7. Haunted Forest: A Haunted Forest themed display will be available for selfies and Instagram photos. Kazidelicious will be installing the anticipated piece of art.

8. Horror Weekend: Post Franklinstein Horror Festivities continue Saturday, October 14th as Uptown Social hosts The Rocky Horror Picture Show to round out your Horror-filled Weekend! Win tickets to the show at the Franklinstein Horror Fest, along with other door prizes sponsored by vendors and Michigan City restaurants and shops.
