INOVA Federal is pleased to announce that CEO Dallas Bergl is the 2022 recipient of the Indiana Credit Union League’s “Chairman’s Global Good Award”. The award was established by the League Board to recognize involvement in global or domestic projects that further credit unions and their values with immigrant populations or in foreign countries. Formal recognition for Dallas took place on October 13^th during the League’s convention.

A key component of Dallas’s selection as this year’s recipient is due to his leadership and service on the World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU) Board as well as on the board of its foundation.

Thanks to his efforts and influence, credit union leaders from around the world have visited Indiana, and Indiana leaders have traveled abroad to assist credit unions in other countries. Of note are visitors from Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, the Netherlands, Ireland, and the Caribbean Island nation of Dominica. Dallas was instrumental in putting together the delegation from Indiana that traveled to assist credit unions in Dominica in 2018 after a hurricane devastated the island. He has also represented Indiana and the worldwide credit union movement through presentations made at WOCCU events in the Bahamas and the Netherlands. The League and Indiana’s credit unions were recognized by WOCCU with its 2020 Distinguished Service Award. While this award pays tribute to the work of many people and credit unions, without Dallas’ leadership on behalf of the state of Indiana, it would not have been possible.
