New Summer Education Offerings Announced by Lubeznik Center for the Arts

Lubeznik Center for the Arts (LCA) is presenting new learning programs including classes, workshops and camps for children, teens and adults for this summer.

 

LCA's summer 2022 education lineup includes a wide variety of engaging classes for every age and skill level:

  • Abstract Painting I & II (16+): Mondays, June 13-July 25, 4-7 p.m.

  • Sandcastle Writers (21+): Mondays, June 13-July 25, 5-7:30 p.m. or Wednesdays, June 15-July 20, 5-7:30 p.m.

  • Fundamentals of Drawing (15+): Tuesdays, June 14-July 19, 6-8 p.m.

  • Drawing for Young Artists (7-12): Tuesdays, June 14-July 19, 4-5:30 p.m.

  • Watercolor Plus (15+): Wednesday, June 15-July 20, 6-8 p.m.

  • Understanding Contemporary Art (18+): Thursdays, June 30-August 4, 6-7 p.m.

  • Scraps to Sculptures (9-14): Thursdays, June 16-July 21, 4-5:30 p.m.

     

    Two one-day summer workshops are also being offered:

  • Sun Printing Workshop (13+): Saturday, June 18, noon-3 p.m.

  • Fused Glass I & II Workshop (15+): Saturday, July 30, noon-3 p.m.

     

    Three five-day summer camps are available for registration for children ages 7-14:

  • Dino Action Camp: Monday-Friday, July 11-15, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

  • Passion for Fashion Camp: Monday-Friday, July 18-22, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

  • Wildlife Around the World Camp: Monday-Friday, August 1-5, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

    Because accessibility is at the heart of LCA’s mission, scholarships for all ages are available for all summer offerings thanks to the generous support of the Unity Foundation of La Porte County and LCA’s Dolly Fund.

    Lubeznik Center for the Arts

     

    LCA's Teen Arts Council (TAC) continues meeting through the summer. Connecting creative teens, TAC meets every fourth Thursday from 6-7:30 p.m. and is free to all teens. Register by emailing Nelsy Marcano at nmarcano@lubeznikcenter.org. Thank you to the Dale E. Landsman Arts Foundation for supporting TAC.

     

    Free Family Day is back Saturday, April 23 from 1-3 p.m. and offers a day of fun, art making, snacks and docent-led family-friendly tours in English and Spanish of our current exhibition, LatinXAmerican

     

    Free gallery tours are also available for small groups and organizations. To schedule your docent-led exhibition tour, contact Janet Bloch, executive director at jbloch@lubeznikcenter.org.
