Purpose: The Inside Sales Associate is responsible for developing meaningful relationships with wholesale customers that encourage trust and loyalty. Their core responsibility is to follow up on leads as well as current/dormant accounts to further the sales process/close the sale while demonstrating deep understanding of product and sales cycle.

This position may be fully-or-partially remote, or based at our headquarters in Michigan City, Indiana.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Process and track incoming Prospects/Leads from initial inquiry to Peepers customer. Execute process and adjust with learnings.

  • Connect with prospect via phone/email within the timeframe set from Peepers service level agreement.
  • Qualify Leads by uncovering key details of Prospect including, but not limited to understanding how they found out about Peepers, Store type and location, Store needs (assortment type/merchandising), timeline of decision, etc.
  • Determine the channel of business the lead will be categorized in.
  • Use the Peepers Sales Pitch via phone, video or email to educate on benefits of product and a partnership with Peepers.
  • Inform prospect of Nationwide Representation and give out correct contact information.
  • Identify correct channel and contact within channel and/or distribute prospective customers as prescribed by the National Sales Manager(s)
  • Send perspective customers to proper contact (i.e., rep, Inside Sales Manager, National Sales Manager(s), Director of Wholesale, etc.) within 24 hours of receipt.
  • Follow up with reps on status of prospect; involve National Sales Manager(s) when necessary.
  • Create and manage monthly reports showing detailing prospects created and converted; dollar amount in pipeline vs. amount captured.
  • Maintains highest level of service and communication.


2. Maintains Customer Accounts and Assist with Key Accounts

  • Achieves monthly revenue goals.
  • Properly creates accounts in NetSuite (CRM) including preferences and special instructions.
  • Updates customer data in NetSuite ensuring customer records are accurate
  • Ensures that all new account paperwork is completed including tax certificates and reseller agreements.
  • Follow up with customers on Pending Payments
  • Generates revenue by soliciting and obtaining orders from current and dormant accounts via telephone calls and emails
  • Develops broad understanding of accounts by reviewing buying history
  • Suggest products for reorders that will maximize turns and revenue for the retailer
  • Facilitates entire sales process from initial phone call to processed order
  • Is proficient in Peepers product and company knowledge, as well as the Peepers sales cycle
  • Can accurately explain features and benefits of product
  • Proficient in brand history and brand identity
  • Has high level understanding of competitors; educates retailers on the Peepers difference
  • Listens attentively to understand customers' needs and provides solutions that are knowledgeable and insightful, encouraging larger orders; upsells
  • Maintains highest level of service and communication
  • Inputs and updates customer data in NetSuite (CRM) ensuring customer records are accurate
  • Acts as support to outside sales representatives and brokers
  • Reports on rep feedback and Sales data per account to suggest ways to improve the business.


3. Manages Faire Sales Channel

  • Achieves yearly revenue goals assigned to Faire.
  • Is responsible for ensuring the Faire storefront aligns with current marketing initiatives.
  • Manages the assortment published to the Peepers Storefront
  • Provides suggestions and improvements to drive a sales increase year-over-year.
  • Manage open order flow and commission.
  • Maintain a strong relationship with the Faire Representative


4. Provides support and back up to the Wholesale Sales Team

  • Assist in driving sales to support all channels of Wholesale. This includes but is not limited to Gift Channel, Natural Channel, Key Accounts and Enterprise Accounts.
  • Involved in Tradeshow prep, which consists of building pallets, taking inventory of items and planning for future shows.
  • Can process customer orders and sample orders for reps and Major account meetings.

5. Potential to travel to trade shows as prescribed by the VP of Sales + Customer Experience
