Reins of Life Volunteers Change Lives!
Michigan City, IN
10/19/2023 11:57 AM

Reins of Life is a non-profit therapeutic horseback riding organization serving people in the Michiana region with any diagnosable disability. Each participant requires one to three volunteers per lesson. With 100+ participants per week, Reins relies on volunteers to accomplish its mission of improving the quality of life for children and adults through equine-assisted activities.

To join this ever-growing team, please sign up to attend Volunteer Training at their Michigan City facility on Monday, October 30 from 2-4:30 or Tuesday, October 31 from 5:30-8 p.m. CT. Volunteers are trained to prepare horses for lessons and walk next to riders during lessons to provide extra support.

There is something for everyone from school group programs on weekday mornings to weekend classes, special events and feeding horses. Volunteers do not need to have any horse experience.

You must be at least 13 years old and wear closed-toe shoes. To sign up for training, please call 219-874-7519. Reins of Life is located at 9375 W. 300 N. in Michigan City. For more details on its programs, visit https://www.reinsoflife.org
