Employee Category: Full-Time Salary

Salary: $20/hr.

Reports to: CYA Program Director

 

General: The MC CYA Site Specialist is responsible for facilitating activities at our Michigan City location for youth/families involved in the Community Youth Advocate program and works with the CYA Program Director to coordinate services for all segments of programming.

 

Qualifications:

The MC CYA Site Specialist should have the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social service-related field or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • The ability to work cooperatively with different types of personalities & diverse populations.

  • The ability to advocate and works towards the best interests of youth appointed to or referred to the CYA program.

  • Strong written and verbal skills

  • Strong commitment to agency and CYA program goals & mission

  • Ability to work alone & self-directed as well as manage time and complex tasks while balancing multiple priorities with deadlines.

    Accountability:

    The MC CYA Site Specialist is hired by the Family Advocates Board of Directors on the recommendation of the CYA Program Director. The MC CYA Site Specialist reports directly to the CYA Program Director who is responsible for his/her performance evaluation.

    Responsibilities:

  • Complete CYA Program training & participate in any continuing education opportunities.

  • Serve as CYA Program liaison to any segment of programming by attending weekly, pre-staffing, staffing and court hearings or other necessary meetings.

  • Disclose any conflict of interest upon receiving referral to the CYA Program

  • Represent the best interest of all youth referred.

  • Review case records & reports regularly.

  • Maintain consistent communication with relevant parties to youth case.

  • Maintain detailed records of case information in Optima and hard copy files.

  • Meet at least b-weekly with referred youth.

  • Maintain a safe, secure & inclusive environment for diverse youth/family populations.

  • Cultivate mentor recruitment.

  • Facilitate scheduling and participation for the Learning Lab

  • Attend all staff meetings & conferences as requested by the CEO or the CYA Program Director
