LOCAL NONPROFITS PARTNER TO HOST ‘HARVEST OF THE SOUL’ IN LA PORTE ON OCT. 21
LA PORTE, IN. (Sept. 18, 2023) - Anam Cara Counseling and La Ventana Culinary School will present “Harvest of the Soul, a farm-to-fork feast and fundraiser,” from 4-8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 21. The event will welcome 150 guests inside Anam Cara Counseling’s beloved countryside barn at 4298 E 1000 North in La Porte.
Guests are encouraged to don their best Western garb for an evening of fine dining and community connection. “Harvest of the Soul will bring people together to experience the wonderment of nature and the healing presence of horses while inspiring community connection through the preparation and sharing of food,” said Stacey Garcelon, founder and director of Anam Cara Counseling.
Chef Marcello Marino and Chef Bruce Haumesser, founder and
board member of La Ventana Culinary School, respectively, will create a
seasonal dinner using locally sourced ingredients from the harvest.
The event will also feature live entertainment, dancing, and a live auction with one-of-a-kind packages like a private dinner for 10 prepared by Chef Marino, weekend access to Anam Cara Counseling’s arena and property, a three-course Mezza Feast dinner with wine pairings at Aba Restaurant in Chicago and a game-day football package with University of Notre Dame tickets.
Proceeds will support Anam Cara Counseling’s mission to help people, families, and the community heal from emotional wounds, cultivate resiliency, and promote mental wellness, as well as La Ventana Culinary School’s nonprofit work to enhance lives and nourish communities through world-class culinary education and enrichment programs.
