28th Annual Readers’ Theatre
Westville, IN
04/13/2017 10:38 AM
Purdue University Northwest students will take part in the Readers’ Theatre program to be presented at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 18 and again at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 23 in the Library-Student-Faculty Building Room 02 on the Westville Campus. The event is free, open to the public and will last about one hour.

The Readers’ Theatre is a showcase for students in Communication 240, Introduction to Oral Interpretation, taught by Daniel Padberg, associate professor of Communication. The program, “Journey in Time,” presents a deft mix of music and literature to reflect the universal journey of time in everyone’s lives through an original script written and edited by Padberg.

Selections will show universal and inevitable conflicts and relationships, struggles as well as love and values that life through time teaches.

An annual feature on campus
The Readers’ Theatre program has been an annual feature on the Westville Campus since its 1989 debut. While the theme of the program changes annually and reflects various moods, trends and social issues of the day, the program is built around literature and music of varying genres that illustrate the program theme from different perspectives. This will be the final Reader’s Theatre presented by Padberg, who is retiring.
