SUMMARY: Implement and manage quality systems designed to ensure safe quality food, consistent with regulations, established standards, customer specifications and production goals. Work with all areas of research & development including, product development, ingredient testing and analysis and labeling.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Comply with all Quality Control Programs. Implement inspection criteria and procedures. Implement quality control training programs for all personnel. Utilize cooking experience to serve as the R&D technician. Consult with Director of Regulatory Compliance for guidance.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret food and safety regulations, common scientific and technical journals. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management and public groups.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS (opportunity for certification upon hire): • HACCP certification • SQF Practitioner
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: • Knowledge of Inspection and Quality Control methods, techniques and equipment. • Knowledge of use of a wide variety of measuring instruments. • Basic knowledge of theory and principles of statistics and statistical process control. | • Quality orientation and high attention to detail. • Post-secondary reading comprehension to understand and apply industrial regulations to daily work activity. | • Understanding of OSHA regulations and expectations. • Desire to approach work as a continuous learning opportunity.
